I don't know it is the culture of Hong Kong or same to the other Countries/Places. In Hong Kong, the parents must help their little one to apply for the Kindergarten(s) in advance at least 1 year. We are a very nervous parent, actually we do the same thing.
My husband read the books about how to choose the kindergartens, then I filled in the forms of all our targets'. We find the useful website, Baby Kingdom, which gives a lot opinions, and post your question and get the answer as well. I know that my son's school uniform can be bought in Kowloon City with lower price but same quality. It is cheaper than 2 times as we through school.
